City Pet Services

Pet services geared towards clients of homeless shelters in Toronto. They can provide services and supplies to help clients care for their pets.

Pet Friendly Shelter List

This is a list of shelters throughout Ontario with resources to help women survivors of violence.

Davenport Shelter

A pet-friendly emergency shelter run by YWCA Toronto.  Supports individuals who identify as women or gender diverse, and are in need of shelter or fleeing violence. 

Fred Victor Shelters

Runs two shelters, Bethlehem United Shelter and Fatima House, that allow pets to stay with their owners.

Pet/Veterinary Resources

Animal Justice

A national organization for animal law advocacy whose lawyers work to pass animal protection laws, hold industries accountable for alleged animal abuse, and fight on behalf of animals in court. 

Toronto Animal Services

Offers information, resources, and services for pet owners in the city. It also offers city-run animal shelters that have pets available for adoption.

The Farley Foundation

Assists pet owners with unexpected or emergency vet bills by subsidizing the cost of veterinary services for low-income families in Ontario.

Toronto Humane Society

A private organization that has pets available for adoption. They also offer reduced-cost veterinary services and run an urgent fostering program for pet parents dealing with short-term crises.

Ontario SPCA and Humane Society

Provides community support services, including emergency animal sheltering, pet food assistance, and community outreach and wellness clinics.

Toronto Cat Rescue

In addition to rescuing and rehoming cats, Toronto Cat Rescue shares valuable information about pet-friendly housing and navigating common challenges for tenants with pets.
